Creating Change

Stanley Griffith

Stanley Griffith

With a commitment to peace and social justice forged in the ’60s, Stanley Griffith (JD ’75) has spent his life collaborating with others to advocate for change.

His interest in legal aid led him to DePaul University College of Law, where he was grateful for the expert faculty and the doors that DePaul Law opened for him. After law school, Griffith embarked on an impactful legal career spanning 33 years, in which, among other experiences, he held an appellate court clerkship, was an associate with a large Philadelphia law firm and was associate general counsel for 17 years at Fidelity Investments.

A nationally recognized expert on securities law, regulated markets and financial services, Griffith helped reform the municipal bond market and served on three advisory panels for the New York Fed.

Currently, Griffith focuses on strategic planning consulting and growing financial support for social justice organizations.

He works on a range of issues, including election voter protection, gun violence prevention and racial justice. As the former board chair of Greater Boston PFLAG, which advocates for LGBTQ individuals, he successfully advocated for strong bullying prevention laws and laws protecting LGBTQ persons from discrimination.

With his DePaul philanthropy, including annual giving and an estate bequest, Griffith is ensuring that students have access to DePaul’s life-changing opportunities for years to come. “I’m grateful for the opportunities that DePaul opened for me and for the education I received,” he says. “I hope you’ll join me in making an annual gift commitment and including DePaul in your estate plan.”

You can join Stanley in helping future generations of DePaul students by making a planned gift. Learn how by contacting Richard S. Goode, JD at (312) 362-8605 or plannedgiving@depaul.edu.
